Matty Litwack is a young DC comedian with a strong attention to detail. And, he’s already making his mark on the local DC scene. Remember Matty Litwack¬†when you want to brag years from now about seeing him first to your friends.
Matty previously worked as a physicist and draws upon that experience to create an analytical, yet silly style of comedy. His comedy comes from a perspective born of an orthodox religious background, experimenting with radiation as a doctoral candidate in physics, and moving crates in a warehouse. Matty has worked at clubs across the country, including the Arlington Cinema and Drafthouse, Funny Bone, Laughing Skull, and Zanies. Additionally, Matty was a semi-finalist in the 2011 TBS/Rooftop National College Comedy Competition.
Matty is literally a scientist and he brings that on stage flawlessly.
His first appearance on a LYGO DC stage was October 28, 2012 at Rumba Cafe. He has since become a regular, appearing as a feature at Codmother on February 13, 2013 and April 10 as well as a headliner on April 21.
He is the most prolific up and coming comedian in town.
Hard-working and highly-intelligent, Matty and David Tveite¬†partnered to produce Blorp!, a DC open mic featuring the best of DC’s comedic talent. After a few shows, LYGO DC is fortunate enough to partner with these two rising stars to reintroduce a professional / open mic mash-up re-imagination of Blorp! every Tuesday from 6:30 – 8:30 at Desperados starting June 18, 2013.
Stay tuned for more to come…
Ridiculously smart, funny, and abstract. One of the best joke writers in the scene. I can’t stop saying, “HEY FUCKER” now.
